Hockley Valley Resort

A Wonderful View

The Hockley Valley Resort has attracted a wide demographic for 35 years

Tucked away into the rolling hills of Hockley Valley, Ontario is the four-season Hockley Valley Resort.

In October 1985, Nancy and Mario Adamo purchased a small 28-room hotel. They renovated the rooms, adding deluxe suites and a grand ballroom plus a championship 18-hole golf course and contemporary conference centre. They expanded the ski facilities, enhanced the landscape, and created a luxurious 8,000 square foot spa. The resort is situated on 300 acres with an estimated square footage of 80,000 square feet.

The Sunray Group bought the resort in March 2018.

Today the resort offers 104 guestrooms featuring Studios (with a sitting area and balcony), Resort Room (with a king bed and cozy seating area) Regal/Vice-Regal (bi-level rooms with king bed, balcony, jacuzzi, and four-piece bathroom), Premier Resort (with two queen beds and full bathroom), Hockley Suite (with a hillside view) and Executive Suite (with a fireplace, walk-in shower, upper and lower levels).

The resort is decorated in an urban contemporary style. It attracts a wide and varied demographic including weddings, families for ski programs, corporate guests and guests aged 35-65 for their leisure market.

Hockley Valley Resort features a beautiful lobby lounge and outdoor patios. They also provide guests with 15 ski and snowboard runs, two terrain parks, cross-country/snowshoe/hiking trails, fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, bocci court, three restaurants featuring farm-to-table cuisine and is located 1km from the company-owned Adamo Estate Winery.

It is the only four-season resort in Canada with its own winery.  The Adamo estate Winery was the vision of Mario Adamo who considered the land and decided that it would be a sustainable option for grape-growing. He followed his instinct and was rewarded when it was confirmed the vines were hearty enough for extended planting. The first vines were planted in 2012 and the winery opened in September 2016. It now has 23,000 vines and 25 acres. It also includes a 20,000 square feet facility for production, wine tastings and retail sales.

Along with the winery it is also home to a two-acre organic fruit and vegetable garden onsite. Providing now only a wonderful view, but 80 per cent of the produce for the resort’s restaurants. The farm-to-table philosophy offers a unique, elevated, fresh, locally harvested dining experience. The resort grows and regularly donates fresh produce to the Orangeville Food Bank.

The Hockley Valley Resort’s goal is to become the greenest resort in Ontario. They are committed to implanting green initiatives that assist in reducing the carbon footprint.  Their goal is demonstrated through the implantation of programs and services that enable us to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout the entire property.

Looking to the future the resort will continue to update the resort with on-going renovations and adding amenities and guestroom expansion.

While it may be tucked away the Hockley Valley Resort has a lot to share with guests and will continue to grow for years to come.
